The foreshadowed bubble burst of the real estate market could soon be a reality with home sales dipping to their lowest level in 2 1/2 years nationwide.

Why the U.S. real estate market is slowing down? 
As of June 2006, the sales in the U.S. real estate market have decreased for the eighth time in the last 10 months, directly accountable with increasingly mounting interest rates. Nonetheless, a certain level of consumer confidence has boosted, contrary to expectations.

Lawmakers concerned about dip in real estate, gas sales 
CONCORD - A dip in property sales is being felt in the state’s pocketbook. State Revenue Commissioner Phil Blatsos told the Senate’s tax writing committee yesterday that receipts so far this month are well below what lawmakers forecast when they wrote the state budget last year.
